The Concealed Carry Weapon curriculum is developed by the DPS to educate residents
about basic firearm safety and the legal responsibilities of carrying a concealed weapon in Arizona.
Secure Defense presents this material using visual aids and scenario based roll playing tailored to be
friendly to inexperienced shooters. We also provide unique insights learned from our diverse training so
that experienced individuals also receive valuable take aways.
Individualized, one on one instruction is offered and encouraged as a follow-up to the basic CCW course. Topics such
weapon retention, close quarters encounters, the effective use of flashlights and alternative defensive techniques are
covered.
The emphasis is always on safety and defense. Our belief is that the best kind of encounter is the one you avoid. We
stress the importance of situation management which includes movement and the effective use of cover or concealment.
